Latin Name: Dascyllus trimaculatus

The domino pattern will fade away when the damselfish matures and will become greyer and the spots will fade too.

The domino damselfish is a hardy fish. It can tolerate conditions that could easily kill other fish, hence the reason many people use these fish to “Nitrogen cycle” new tanks and therefore great for a beginners.


  • Origins: The Pacfic, from South East Asia to Southern Japan and East Australia to Oceanic.
  • Size: 2.5 inches
  • Diet: Eats most marine foods including flakes
  • Water Parameters: Temperature 77-79F (25-26C), alkaline (p.H. 8.1-8.3) with Specific Gravity 1.020-1.024
  • Temperament: Territorial by nature
